My old Core 2 Duo Macbook is only turning on when it’s plugged in, but it stays on when I unplug it. This started happening when I lost my temper, and hit the palm rest, directly over the hard drive. It suddenly shut down, and refused to boot.

Well I don't know why, but It's working again. Letting the battery drain completely fixed it.
@naso4265 while its running, let's take a look at it, go ahead and run the Coconut Battery
