Missing earth straps on PS4 power supply
My PS4 is missing earth straps on its power supply. Will this impact its performance or cause damages??

@finleycoombes …. the device will function without these screws, however while plugging in peripherals and if a short occurs, it could damage the device. i would recommend purchasing the required screws here:

But the two thin metal pieces that go around and support the screws are really necessary? Or just the screws themselves are necessary?
the two pieces of metal are being utilized as anti-static pieces. the screws are in stand offs connected to ground on the motherboard. the metal sits on plastic casing that has the potential of building up or conducting by outside influenced static build up. this set up takes it to ground and not your system. necessary? you be the judge. i would buy the screw set.
Sounds good... except the link is "out of stock" likely due to the fact that it's 2022. I could really use multiples of the power supply screws and especially those grounding fins.

If the input power has only 2 wires then the machine is double insulated and does not need an Earth connection.
As for performance will not deteriorate without an earth connection on most equipment.

Well I bought a ps4 without that plate and had to replace the power supply. After 2 weeks of the new power supply it was unplugged by my cat and not the power supply is ruined :/ 60 bucks down the toilet. So if I were you I'd get one.
