Can the LCD for an early 2013 MacBook Pro be interchangeable for a late 2012 Mackbook Pro?

They are pretty different models with different cables. The 2012 13” A1425 MBP is not compatible with anything else Apple manufactured.

Here's one source of the needed part: Late 2012/Early 2013 - Complete 13″ Display Assembly
@danj It's an interesting Mac, I like the double fan that should be keeping the machine very cool. I purchased a faulty board some time back for the fun of it..it works now but I don't have a Mac where to put it unfortunately =;-) .. not easy to find faulty machines either..
Retina Display is a marketing term developed by Apple to refer to devices and monitors that have a resolution and pixel density so high – roughly 300 or more pixels per inch – that a person is unable to discern the individual pixels at a normal viewing distance Myloweslife.

@barbara25 - While that is true, the issue here is which part is designed to work with the given system.
Just like cars a given year's parts won't necessarily fit or work in a different years models even though the cars look the same! Thats the case here, two different retina displays from different years which are not interchangeable.

Your system is part of this series Late 2012 & Early 2013 13" MacBook Pro retina (A1425) This is the retina model not the older unibody which was still being sold.
