65UH5500 - Turns on, Turns off, 3 Red Led Blinks - Power Module Gone

From browsing repair forums I’ve seen this issue is quite common and can be brought on by a flurry of sources.

I however think I might be lucky in my bad luck. I’ve taken the back panel apart and upon close inspection, there seems to be a VERY likely culprit. My question however for the more experienced peeps in here is if this issue is likely to be the cause of my problem or a side effect of another problem.

On the power module (or Power Modle as written on the thing … ), one of the parts seems to have overheated (marked BCK-50-L04050, in the bottom middle rightish section of the board).

Wondering if:

1) Only that part can be replaced -tried a google search to no avail - what is that part called btw.

2) Can something else cause this issue that would render the power module replacement trivial.

3) Anyone has a link to access the service manual for this TV.

Thanks a lot in advance for your insights,

Nik

@niktamer

let’s start off with your part. That is a transformer. It does look like it has failed but replacements will be hard to find. You may have to look for a complete power board. The rest of your boards do look okay and for now I’d concentrate on the power board. If you are really interested in reworking your power board (there is usually a reson why the transformer failed so you need to check the other components) try to find the schematic for the power board. It is actually a Skyworth 168P-P6L01D-W0

Yep, searching for free schematics / service manual is giving me a headache. Then searching for that specific transformer is piling on to it. So instead of having a hurt brain and / or paying for a service manual + trying to find and pay for a transformer that may or may not fix the issue, I’ll heed you advice and just start by buying a replacement power board.

While signing up to the board I saw that it is funded by selling parts and I imagine by affiliate links. You have any to supply that benefit the forum or shall I just buy one of a well reviewed seller on ebay ?

Thanks a lot for your answers !

@niktamer any supplier that has good feedback and offers a good warranty will work. It doesn't matter where you purchase from as long
