Playstation 3 Slim Wifi/Bluetooth Chip Replacement

Has anyone ever attempted to replace the wifi/bt chip on a ps3 slim? Replacements are available online, and I'm fairly confident that if there's nothing special about the way it's settled in the board that I could replace it, but I'm worried about things like compatibility and general success rate of the repair amongst people who are confident in microsoldering repairs. If anyone has any kind of advice at all about dead wifi or the chip repair, please comment, and thank you much if you've read this far! :)
