iPod Video powers on, is stuck at Apple logo boot screen- no backlight

Hi,

I’ve got a couple Video’s here, some of them 5.5 others just 5th.

They will only seem to turn on and display the ‘boot’ apple logo black screen without the back-light on. No sad iPod, no plug into iTunes to restore. It just sits there on the Apple logo.

I am very experienced with the assembly/disassembly of these iPods.

I’ve tried different batteries, HHDs, LCDs, taken the board out of the iPod and just plugged in an LCD. I’ve tried just about everything.

Edit: the HDD does not spin up when it does this.

If anyone can help me, or even give me some relevant information that would be extremely helpful.
