Device is getting warm when charged, even when off

Hello everyone. I am trying to figure out what broke in my tablet. I was using it as usual, no modifications or software changes. It suddenly started getting warm (even when powered down). I thought it could be faulty battery but when I pried the back cover off, it turned out that actually there is some sort of module getting warm.

This is the module that is overheating, other than that device works fine but I am not using it since it definitely is faulty.

I tried looking up for a solution or description of motherboard (?) modules but didn't get any luck.

I appreciate any help with that issue since I am clueless what is wrong with the device.

Kind regards,

Igor

UPDATE:

I took off the cover and noticed that there are some resistors under it. I managed to take a photo of it using magnifying glass.

Looks like the biggest one (SM5703A) is some sort of “charging IC chip USB control” according to some Chinese spare parts websites. Now I am wondering whether I should buy whole new motherboard, the USB charging board with the USB port or anything else? I do recall I was connecting microsd OTG adapter to tablet in the period when I noticed the overheating issue.

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Kind regards, Igor
