Why is it lagging?

Hi, I bought this laptop in belief that I will get a responsible device which I can use for a couple years and nothing will go wrong and it will run smoothly.. that it will be just solid. But after a month I've started being suspicious about its performance.. Sometimes it just lags while switching the desktop or for example lagging writing like I write it down and it the laptop slowly fill it with lags.. i hope you can imagine.. I don’t know if its issue of all “entry level” macbooks pro but I believed that this laptop would be better than any other windows laptop. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like that. Thanks for response.

Isn’t more about RAM? This is my memory usage.. I don't run any heavy app.. I have opened safari and spotify.. nothing else right now and it’s usage of memory is 5,5gb.. my friend has MacBook Air and has about 3,5 usage of RAM and he has more app opened.. I've bought used macbook from one shop. Is it possible that they sold me damaged device?

Well, I've deleted disc and reinstalled Mac OS X and when I for example scroll on facebook it lags is it normal? Idk..

Make a backup of your system on an external drive, the reset your system to factory defaults as you got something wild running using your RAM.

Only re-install your apps from the Apps Store and recover your data from your backup.

What is your network connection?

da

approximately 80mbits

da

Are you sure?

80 Mega bits is quite slow! Are you really saying 80 Mega Bytes?

Megabits vs. Megabytes: What’s the Difference?

da

You're getting close ;-}

Focus on my previous comment I have a feeling something wild is running could even be a virus or malware! Someone could be snooping on what you have on your system and/or what you are doing.

The Mac shouldn’t be laggy with any of daily tasks one performs on a PC. Unless you run heavy apps, even a Intel M system or an older 2012 i5 runs smoothly with the latest Os. You’ll find an activity monitor inside your Applications/Utility folder, open it and run it selecting to show “all processes” from the menubar whenever the system slows down, it should help you identify what keeps your processor busy and help you troubleshooting.

Often times the issue is an overloaded SSD!

Depending on the your exact model you might not have enough free space (128, 256, 512 GB, or 1 TB flash storage). The 128 & 256 GB model really needs 1/3 of the drive left unused, the 512 GB 1/4, and for the 1 TB 1/8th free.

You also want to limit the number of open apps if you only have 8 MB of RAM

Actually I have 128gb version :D I use it only for university.. so all I wanted was to run apps smoothly and fast.. but this makes me really upset.

Then you'll want 1/3 left unused and limit the number of apps open concurrently.

You'll clearly want an external drive (SSD or HDD) to hold your music, vids & data as this drive is so small

da

I have 70gigabytes free.. really nothing here except documents, presentations, spotify and some easy apps..
