Hi Guys
Can I replace the 1.3Ghz logic board with the 1.7Ghz logic board? Apart from the installation is there anything else I need to consider?

Sure! Its possible, but given the fact Apple might be rolling out a newer version at the end of the month you might want to wait until you see what Apple brings out.

Here's a known-trustworthy site that is actually selling this model logic board. However it is only available in "refurbished, used" condition in 4 GB of RAM. All the other ones are sold out.
@ajcooke01 Mike will be out for a week, I go in the hospital Monday for a Cardioversion, don't know how long I will be out. So if you find answers that you can vote on, please do so as Mike and I do about 70% of the voting.

@ajcooke01 pretty simple procedure. You disconnect the battery and totally shut down the machine. Then ZAP the PRAM and hope you get a reboot. Really it's just a shutdown and then shock to get it restarted and hope it self corrects the electrical signals to the heart. Supposed to correct atrial fibrillation if it works.
@mayer - If its long stay we should send something to cheer him up!

make sure your external hardware like display screen, battery compatible with 1.7 ghz logic board.

Not an issue here! Apple offers multiple versions of the exact same system within the series. Only the CPU's clocking is different as in this case.
If Jack was jumping between different series then you would hit issues. Most of the time it's not the external ports ability, but the physical location and the internal connections and the boards mounting.
