MacBook Pro 2012/13 Blade Ssd Sandisk SD5SL2 512Gb - Faulty

Couldn’t find any better category to describe it, hope description will suffice. It’s an SSD I got some time back with a Macbook Pro I bought for parts I needed, seller was clear enough to state it might have been faulty, and that’s what it seems to be indeed. Since it’s an Ssd installed for quite a short time on Macs, I just have one machine to test it. However, I also have an adapter 7+17 (8+18) pins to SATA 2,5” if needed. It seems the drive can’t be seen or recognized either way. I have no idea if schematics for such drives can be found somewhere around and if it makes sense at all to try a repair, but since it’s a 512Gb drive it would be worth the try. I’ve done some basic testing with multimeter and I can see two voltages, 1.8v and 3,3v on random caps, the SSD mildly heats up as if it was working without any major shorts..under the microscope everything looks clean and shiny. One of the two coils shows a 1,05v. Has anyone ever succeeded or attempted an SSD hardware repair and can provide some insight ? I enclose a couple of pics for reference.

Still hunting for schematics of this..any hints anyone ? I know flash drives prices have gone down, but still, feels bad not to be able to fix it.

If I remember correctly this is one of the SSD’s Apple had recalled as the Marvell controller chip (Sandforce) had a defect.

I’m not sure if you can find any schematics for it as Apple does not offer any info on the SSD device side.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case as these drives very pretty short lived. The controller chip is probably getting the right voltage as the coil close to it shows a 1.05v which would be a typical correct value for a processor.

I'm aware it won't be easy to find schematics for it as the same applies to any Apple device, but I still hope some leaks or reverse engineering work might help..I see a few faulty blade Ssd around for sale, maybe someone has found more useful infos and would be able to shed a light ?
