iPhone 7, 8 and X feels warm-ish doing daily tasks Specifically under

My iPhone's can get a bit warm when using day to day tasks, such as mildly intensive browsing to imore, macrumors, and reddit. Using Appolo can also warm it up. Facebook app can also make it feel a bit warm, and even making phone calls can warm it up.

Are all of these normal to heat up the phone? Temp gun can read up to 34.4C (94 F)

Thank you everyone.

Which phone are we working on here?

I have noticed this on my 7 specifically but my X at idle temps always seems to be a degree warmer then my 7. Both can get up to 88-90 degrees just browsing the internet. Can you check the temp of yours and let me know what they are at?

Any computer (i.e. iPhone or Mac) which is processing a heavy task will heat up.

Each device by its given design will be able to process more within less time (an iPhone X will be faster than an iPhone 7 etc…), hence create less heat, but the total time of what is being processed could cause even the best processor to run off the rails. Within the design are sensors to either slow down or stop running the process or device.

In addition to the APU/CPU processing efficacy you have the power and storage which also create heat as its used.

The last issue is the application its self maybe poorly written and/or you have unintended software running on your device (background process, virus or malware).

My 7 plus can get a bit warm when forget to turn off the camera. Not encountering any issues with any other app or web surfing. But I also am not an online game player or running anything that intensive. I would use my iPad Air2 for that. It can get warm playing some arcade games I have on it.

I guess my definition of warm may be different then yours, mine doesnt get toasty persay unless I am using it outside on 80+degree day but I can feel warmth near the camera when browsing sites like imore, macrumors, or reddit.

GIve that a shot flipping through some posts..

I think you're hitting the heavy Adware sites which spawn off a lot of threads these are crappy designed sites that will load down your phone or computer with lots of stuff running, USA Today is another good example of a crappy site. I try to avoid them on my phone and often pick other sites if the content is available there.

Makes sense any chance you can check the temp after actively browsing those sites for a few minutes?

I think you have to assume you've downloaded something on to your phones which is running in background. I would recommend you make a good backup of your Phone and then re-set it back to factory settings (void of anything) and then re-install a fresh iOS onto it. Then with only what Apple ships see if your phone is running like it should if not then you have a hardware issue which could be moisture or liquid damage.
