Bogging or engine slows down when turned to full throttle.
I have a brand new 66cc motor kit that mounts onto a bicycle frame is known as an 80cc Skyhawk but in Canada it's 66cc.
I used a High-Performance carb but I couldn't get it to idle slowly with that carb I backed the idle screw nearly all the way out and the engine ran faster and then it blew the spark plug right out of the cylinder head.
In response to this I put the stock carburettor on and now she runs fairly well aside from the fact that I can't throttle past 1/4 throttle and it sure would be nice to be able to get the rest of the power from the engine.
Everything is brand new when it's idling she purrs. Another thing that happens is when I throttle down the engine takes a few moments to idle down which is odd.
When I am riding and try to go past 1/4 throttle the engine slows down and I may as well be peddling but at 1/4 I can get to around 30 KPH but she can go faster if I can figure out what is causing the issue with either carburettor but I am not sure what problem I am looking for and am hoping someone can help direct me.
Questa è una buona domanda?
Hi KoolBreeze,
Can you blip the throttle higher than 1/4 throttle at the carburetor's throttle lever?

The carb doesn't have a throttle lever it only works through the cable. Is it possible that the air intake is too high for the fuel flow?
If so maybe I just need to try and increase fuel flow or restrict air intake.

Thats ok Here's the thing this is my 2nd engine of this type they were supposed both be 66cc but this engine I git is faster has much more power and when I put the High-Performance carb on the engine it tries to fly even at it's lowest and I can't understand why this is. I have the engine running near-perfect well I think I do. It's winter and I have been going over everything. I added a better chain tensioner as well anyway, right now the stock carburettor and it still has more power than my last engine. I have no idea how I could even measure to see if they are both 66cc. I have a feeling my last engine was either a lemon or one of the 40 something CC engines. Which would mean I got ripped off when I bought the first engine.
