Tv clicks won't come on. Main board or power board?

I'm loosing voltage on standby circuit. Get a clicking noise and voltage drops out. I can unplug the main board from the power board and the clicking stops and light through the screw holes. Plug main board back in and unplug the T-Con board and it starts clicking again and no lights. So does this mean the Main board is bad or is it something on the power board. The tv was hit by lightning. I believe it came in through the cable modem to the tv through the ethernet cord that was hooked up to the TV. It got my Xbox as well that was connected to the modem with a ethernet cord. But my modem was undamaged, it continued to work just fine And all 3 where on a very good electrical surge protector that didn't trip. No hotspots on any of the boards, no bulging capacitors. Tv is a Samsung UN60D6000SFXZA version F301

I've went over all the boards. No hot spots , burnt or discolored spots on it and no bulging leaking or evendors slightly misshapen capacitors. I just want to be sure before I fork ovr 250 on a board it's the right one.

@neal43 sadly enough it i snot alays the caps. That would be to easy ;-) Post some images of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide Aggiungere immagini ad una domanda for that. I hear you about the $$$ for the board. I would hate that as well. First rule of changing boards is to purchase them from palces that have a good return plolicy. Just in case....I still thinks it's the main board. Just based on the description of the error. Once we asee some images we may find a way for you to test a few things. Might come in handy for further troubleshooting and narrowing things down.

I have to agree, sounds like if there are no caps blown, it might be a main board problem. You could try to use a volt meter to check the caps, Capacitors 101 but you would need to know which one obviously to check, maybe start checking with these first:

@neal43

by the symptoms you are describing, this sounds like a main board issue. Check that for damaged components.

Sounds like this might be blown or popped capacitors. There are a few guides on how to remove and replace them. It happened to an LCD 49" Samsung. I could hear a click/hiss and wouldn't turn on. After replacing the caps, TV was good as new again. Just make sure you get the same caps when replacing. They should be marked.
