Touch not working after screen replacement

I replaced the digitizer and OLED screen on my Moto Z Play and now touch isn't working on the screen. I made sure everything is seated properly, but it's just not working at all. The only thing I can think of is that somehow the zif connector for the pair isn't seating all the way in as the line on the cable does not sit exactly at the opening where the cable mates, but about a millimeter out from it.

I think you can check the contactors on the LCD screen flex cable, If you use too much force when you install, It might bend. Here has Moto Z Play LCD screen replacement video, I hope it will help you.

I will try again tonight, but checking again, the line on the flex cable matches the guide line on the PCB, so I don't think that's the case.

Looking at the replacement screen (which was purchased from elsewhere), the chip on the flex cable that leads to the digitizer portion of the assembly is a spinortech chip, whereas the original had a synaptics chip, it must be a knockoff, but every listing I could find on ebay has a picture of the same chip, so I'm not sure.

I want to add that I ordered the replacement screen from ifixit now, it's twice as much as the one I had originally bought, but should just work, and actually cheaper than alot of the other OEM looking replacements available elsewhere

How did it go man?

Feel free to contact iFixit's customer support if you have any questions about the screen after install. However, this should fix the issue.

According to Motorola this is a known issue and the data needs to be backed up on any Motorola phone before doing any repair. To fix the issue the phone needs to be factory reset. Before performing the factory reset make sure you do everything else as to not lose the customers data.
