Losing Service and WiFi when charging Optimus Zone 3

I have been losing service and wifi when I charge my phone. This started about two nights ago. It just happens randomly while charging. My phone is not on airplane mode and the reception in my area is really good, so that's not the problem. This is fixed by taking the sim card out and putting it back in. I've talked to Verizon and they have refreshed my service and taken my phone off the account and back on and all types of things but nothing has worked. It continues to do this. What's going on?
