Spontaneous lid lock light solid not flashing

After my washing machine has completed the cycle and the only light left on is the green light after the load has sat for a while suddenly the red lid lock light will come on. The light is not flashing it is solid. I will go to lift the lid and it will be locked I’ll put it back down lift it again and it comes unlocked and the light goes out. This is a sudden issue and it does not do it for every load. What could be the issue and remedy? Thank you

Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds until the CONTROL LOCKED Status light turns off. If that does not do it, try putting the machine into diagnostic mode. The washer must be empty and the control must be in the OFFstate before pressing the touch-pad sequence to start the test.

I would like to add to this question. After a brief period, the lid locks when the washer is empty. I have to unplug it for a minute before it will unlock. Any idea why? I don’t know how to put it in “diagnostic mode.”
