Great. What SSD model inside iMac Pro (4 TB) shows at

"Apple - About This Mac - System Report - Hardware - Storage - Physical Drive - Device Name"?

For instance, iMac 5K 27-inch shows "APPLE SSD SM2048L", which stands for SaMsung SSD 2,048 GB (2 TB). Thanks and Happy Christmas!

My iMac Pro 2TB SSD shows: APPLE SSD AP2048M

Thanks, Jerome. Someone has the 4TB version? What does it show?

Additionally, what does it mean such last letter in the SSD model code?

da

4TB is actually 2x2TB in RAID 0 configuration, you may take a look at the MacSales blog for the tear down, their YouTube video at around 5:15 shows 1TB storage (2x512GB) has the following markings: "Apple Inc. 512GB EMC 3197, Made In China, Model: 656-0061A, C0275030, D33057 ROHS".

da

SSD inside iMac Pro show APPLE SSD AP1024M for 1TB and APPLE SSD AP2048M for 2TB. But I wonder what the 4TB shows. Maybe it is different (Samsung like the ones of iMac Pro 2017 or whatever).

On the other hand, what does such last letter in the SSD code mean?

da

My guess is leading "AP"="Apple", and the last letter"M"= SSD revision "M" (i.e. mid'12 MBA = Rev. "E"; late'13 MBP 13" = Rev. "F"; early'15 MBP 13" = Rev. "G"; early'15 MB 12" = Rev. "H"; late'16 MBP 13" = Rev. "J"; late'16 MBP 15" = Rev. "L") , I might be wrong.
