How do I fix my New Hard Drive

I purchased a 1 TB hard drive to replace my current one from ifixit and attempted to clone my original HD using SuperDooper, however the program failed to copy all my files to my new hard drive.

I then decided to just restore the new 1TB to it’s original state, but now it won’t show up on my computer at all. I’ve looked at the disk utility and other ways I could get it to show up but it won’t.

And I’ve tried installing it into my laptop but my computer never gets past the loading white screen before restarting and does this on a loop. I’ve even tried holding down the option key but nothing works. I’m scared I may have damaged my new 1 TB hardrive and may have to get a new one and my current hard drive could fail at any given moment.

One of the issues people encounter in this series is a bad SATA cable Vs a bad drive. Follow this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Late 2011 Hard Drive Cable Replacement and this is the part you want: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable - Apple P/N 923-0104 and yes this is a slightly different cable than the original its a better part! Even still you'll want to put down some electricians tape on the uppercase where the cable crosses as the machined aluminum tends to wear the cable and you don't want to fold the cable to hard around the bends as that too also weakens it.

Sadly you'll need to reformat the drive again before you use it as you have low level corruptions which you need to repair before you re-install the OS as SW @avanteguarde spelled out Super Duper will copy the corruptions back to your drive which will undo all of the work we just corrected! Use this: Startech 2.5" SATA to USB adapter and use Apple Migration Assistant or manually copy from within the finder the files you want to save.
