Front Glass Only Replacement

So I've managed to crack the glass on my Honor Note 8.

It's not too bad but enough to warrant a fix. I really really don't want to replace the LCD because it's an OLED panel that I can't find anywhere online. I have ordered a new OEM front glass panel that's ready for installation. No phone rep shops want to touch it. I have all the tools to fix it but I have a few questions relating to a german repair video I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKIgOL7T...

It looks pretty straight foward,

obviously I need adhesive strips but is it absolutely necessary for me to have the UV glue? I don't know how much I'll need nor do I want to wait for it to arrive.

Also, I've noticed phone LCD's like a tempered film in between the digitiser and glue, Do I need to worry about it? And if I break it where can I buy another one?

I could find screens but I couldn't find oled screens. They're all lcd. Maybe I'll just buy a broken phone and transplant the screen into mine.

if you dont have the UV glue, the capacitive sensitive glass will short out your digi. This will cause problems with touch if you press too hard.

Early on in my shops life, we used this technique, and were getting many complaints about function, even though we told them there would be issues.

i ALWAYS suggest using the proper technique with LOCA and UV lighting. On larger series phones, removing the glass lens is much more difficult, and may cause damage to the LCD without a prefectly steady hand. the most OEM Like repair, would be a full screen assembly replacement.

However, if you want to go cheap, then it should function enough to use, as long as youre careful with it.

I'm going to go and see a guy who has been doing replacements since the iPhone 3. If he doesn't have UV glue I'll give it a miss.
