My Surface Pro 4 has been making a nasty rattling sound, just 2 months out of warranty. It sounds like the fan bearings have dried out. or the fan blades are dragging on something when it's spinning at a higher speed than usual.
I have the tools to open it, but before I do, is it possible to access the bearing or swap out the fan component?

Unfortunately you will have to open it up to access the fan.
