Grey screen death. Hard drive (SSD) or hard drive cable?

Hi.

Approximatly a week ago my mac shut down. When i started my computer, i got to the login phase, but during the login a lot of text came upon the screen and the mac shut itself down.

I did a apple hardware test and got this result: 4hdd/11/40000004:SATA(0,0)

I then erased the hard drive and tried installing osx. It did not work by network, so I installed os x high sierra by USB. After the installation i tried to turn the computer on. There it ended with a grey screen, and now i am stuck.

I got an SSD as a Hard drive.

Very grateful for any help possible!

It's possible it could be a logic board issue. Have you tried running disk utility first aid when you plugged in the USB?

My hard drive does not even show up in disk utility.

If it does not show up more then likely you have a faulty hard drive. If you have an extra one to test it try a spare & see if you can boot into osx.

This error you see (4hdd/11/40000004:SATA(0,0)) means you need a new hard drive. If you recently replaced it, check to make sure that the SATA cord is plugged in, and the drive is installed correctly. If not, then I would suggest looking into buying a new SSD and replacing it, or taking it to a repair service to get it replaced.

It can be the hard drive cable?

There's a slim chance it could be if it's improperly connected, but I wouldn't put my money on it. Most likely, you'll have to get a new hard drive.
