cooling system and gauge?

Hi everyone, I got a problem on my car and I went to many mechanics but there is no idea, everyone guessed and tried to get more money.

the engine temperature gauge doesn't work well, sometime it stop reading the temperature and sometime it shows the overheating for a few time and get back to the normal. when it shows the overheating the radiator cap starts steaming.

inaddition there is a code showing there is a problem on the cooling system.

Please can I get suggestions

@faisal0 this "when it shows the overheating the radiator cap starts steaming." is actually reversed. Your engine is overheating and your gauge shows it.

You have not told us what your mechanics did to repair it not have you told us what code it is showing. Without this, everything will be pretty much just a guess. Give us more information so we can at least try to narrow it down.

Your car will not overheat based on the gauge. Check your fan, your fan sensor and ensure that you have enough coolant in your system.
