How do I remove the HDD from this laptop?

Through my school, I'm getting a new laptop next year, and I wanted to remove the HDD to use in my custom PC for extra storage. I don't wan't to take it apart without a guide and then have to explain to the IT department at my school why my laptop doesn't work if I stuff it up. Thanks.

Update (05/18/2017)

Block Image

This is what the bottom of my laptop looks like.

I was wondering if all the screws are the same size on the bottom, I don't want this laptop to be stuffed in case I need to give everything back.

I AM NOT GOING TO DO THIS IF I DON'T GET TO KEEP THE LAPTOP SO DON'T TRY TO TELL ME NOT TO DO IT, I PAYED FOR THE LAPTOP THROUGH THE SCHOOL.

Sounds like a complete and utter waste of your schools money.

How are you going to explain to the school a missing hard drive?

I don't think we have to give them back. You wouldn't believe how trashed some of them are. Stickers, scratches, screws missing, pieces of plastic that cover the hinges gone.

Why don't you just ask.

Moose Moose let's not do this."Stickers, scratches, screws missing, pieces of plastic that cover the hinges gone" and why would that be? Do you think it is your IT department that did this? It is most likely students that are given equipment that they are not taking care off. Remember that no matter how beat up it is, it is still not yours to remove anything from. Your school is trusting you with equipment that was paid for by others and you think you deserve to steal the hard drive? Wake up Kid.... Not cool at all

We payed for the laptops man, it's the students that are messing them up. No-one's gotten in trouble for putting stickers on their laptops. If I have to give the laptop back because mine's in good condition, I'm not taking the HDD. It's only if we get to keep it because everyone I talk to says something different about keeping it. I don't mean to steal the HDD, I just wanted to remove it if I get to keep the laptop.

Most likely you did not pay for the laptop. Not sure which school district you belong to or which country you are in, but I am convinced that the payment made, was not for the purchase of the laptop. Come back when it is your laptop and you'll get the help you are looking for.

Your priorities are very strange.

Lets say that you do get to keep it (which I don't think you do, I think the money you pay is a deposit) why is the hard drive the most valuable thing to you? You do realise that if you sell the whole laptop you can buy a BETTER, NOT SECOND HAND, DESKTOP HARD DRIVE...

Not alot of thought has gone into your decision and let's be honest it's not even your money, your parents payed for it. If it was your money you'd be making better decisions.

EDIT:

It's a $620 laptop, and your removing the 500gb($20) hdd...
