Would a 13" display work for testing purposes?

I recently pulled one of these out of a junk bin, and everything works fine except for the display backlight. I know that it's probably the backlight fuse or driver, but just to be sure before I send it to a technician, I want to rule out the possibility of the display backlight being dead. Would I be able to safely plug in a display from a 2009-2012 13" pro to test this?

@dastumer nope. Just checked and the 13" and 15" use different connectors.
