Unable to fit the on/off switch bracket underneath the rear camera.

I am unable to refit the poweron/off switch bracket that goes behind the rear camera. Camera has been removed but i just cannot get this bracket to fit flush with casing. Need help sonce I have already messed up one switch. This is on a Ipad 3 .

The power button on those has a small metal bar if I remember correctly. Make sure the button and bar are oriented correctly, the bar should be down towards the bottom. That's the only thing I can think of that would stop the button from going in flush.
