@babygirl2014 , Stephanie Dedear, If still under warranty return for replacement/repair/refund. If you were just using it a short time and it was not operating hot, it could possibly be a faulty trigger or bad connection internally. If not under warranty and you know the battery was good and charged, you will have to disassemble the drill to locate the issue of why it will not work. Once apart you can look and test for damaged/burnt/loose wires/connectors/etc., test the trigger with a DVOM to see if it is faulty and test the motor with a couple jumper wires from battery to motor contacts to see if it is functioning or burnt out. I posted a few links that may help the 1st link is to disassembly guides of various drills, 2nd and 3rd links you may possibly get parts from. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

The trigger on these drills is an electronic circuit board with an SCR (special type of transistor). DVM will not do any good to troubleshoot unless you have a schematic. I have had 2 of these drills and have had the same problem with both. I will never get another one. I'm switching over to Milwaukee.

The trigger assembly does indeed have two key electronic components: a diode and a MOSFET (not an SCR). MOSFET is IRLB8748. In my case the MOSFET blew likely due to overheating/current draw/thermal runaway. After removing the small heatsink, I could see the transistor package was cracked, indicating catastrophic failure. You can probably purchase a replacement assembly online, or if you feel adventurous, order the MOSFET online and replace it. Likely the repair will set you back $30 either way. Might consider just getting a new one for $55 (white version).

My 3-year-old LD20 stopped working. Pushing on the trigger didn’t help. I took it apart and everything looked OK; I could not get into the trigger assy. The solder connections looked good. So I reseated the four push tab connections using contact cleaner spray and re-assembled. That solved the problem and it works great

most likely you can't. the motor is "brushless," meaning the brushers are international. the motor is all cast metal, one piece, the brushers are probably cracked. the same thing happened to mine. the skill saw atachment, i think, puys too much stress on the motor when you rip anything longer than a few inches.
