Worth replacing touch panel of this tablet and guesses of cost?

This approximately 3 year old touch and pen tablet has an area of the touch panel that requires significantly more pressure to register touch. In this same area of display there are brighter blotches that appear when display is white. I've seen these blotches referred to as "white pressure marks." The digitizer still works without incident. I'm considering sending this back to Fujitsu to have repaired as I otherwise find useful. Does anybody have any idea of what the costs are with replacing the the touch panel assuming that display blotches are just cosmetic ?

It would seem that the panel itself is discontinued although it may be that Fujitsu still stocks:

unfortunately, i have checked three Laptop/Tablet screen shops I order from on a weekly basis, and can not find a part for you. most screens run around 120-160 CAD to buy for integrated tablet screens. however, some are known to get much more expensive than that.

Seeing as the tablet is 1500$ CAD, this is likely worth the repair even if the screen gets more expensive.

Hi Scott. Thanks for answering. I've followed-up with a comment that includes a link to what I believe is the touch panel being used. It is actually manufactured by Fujitsu although status shows discontinued. I've called Fujitsu that is currently checking on availability. Assuming that I can still purchase, what do you think about this job ? I've replaced phone displays, but what about job scope for touch panel replacement ? Is touch panel typically bonded to the glass or display requiring heat and might I be damaging more things trying to fix ? I'm good with detailed, meticulous type work so I'm willing to try.
