Is it possible to upgrade the video card in a 27" iMac

ive been reading up and talking to a few people and ive been getting mixed answers. some people tell me that the card is integrated with the mobo but some people tell me that it's "plug and play". does anyone know for sure if you can upgrade the graphics card to an ati 5850 or similar caliber?
