I have run asd and vst but my laptop crashes and then ram beeps every time I am running it through a GPU test at the same level as all the others of the same model. It passes all of the other tests

It sounds like you have a bad GPU as it happens in many many mac books. gfxcardstatus is the program you want to get, this disables the discrete GPU and only enables the internal Intel GPU. Try that and let me know if it works.

@sherlock_holmes it worked? I had this issue before too and that seemed to fix it
I haven't had a chance to test it yet, I will make sure that u know immediately what happens.
