Why is my battery button not working?

My alcatel idol phone power/lock button does not work. I have been able to bypass this by enabling a double tap unlock feature. Yet, i didn't foresee that once my phone shuts off I can't use that same feature to turn it back on. I really just wanna have the button replaced; the problem lies with finding a phone repair store that can fix a non flagship phone.
