Why is my phone turning off?

I have an iPhone 6 since December 2014, and a month ago it started to run out of battery very fast (it lasted 20 mins in a Viber call, 40 mins outside in my pocket) so I decided to replace the battery.

When I first got my phone back it worked fine for a day but after that it started to turn off automatically, even if it was charged 100%. Every time when I plugged it to the charger it turned on immediately but had 30% left. If I plugged it off, the phone turned off after ~30 seconds, and continued doing this for 3-4 hours. Then it started to work fine.

I decided to replace the battery again, but I still have the problem.

I don't have looping Apple logo. When it turns off (not charging) I can't turn it back on, it doesn't even show me that screen when it's out of battery, it shows nothing.

Please help,

-Med

Where are you getting your batteries from?

They're from a local distributor mobile shop.

Did you do a hard reset after replacing the battery? That could be a problem if you didn't. If you bought your part from iFixit, there should be a little card that tells you how to calibrate the battery and that you should do a hard reset after replacing the battery. To do a hard reset hold down the sleep/wake button until you are able to power down, but don't. Then while holding the power button, press the home button until your screen goes off. It should then turn back on.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info! The battery is not from iFixit but I searched for the calibration process and I'm gonna do it now. I hope it'll work. I'll rate your answer after that.

The battery calibration and the hard reset are two different things, but the hard reset is what you need. The battery calibration is running the battery down to under 10% and then charging it uniterupted to 100%. This is a hard reset. Come forzare il riavvio di iPhone 6

Hope this helps

I know they're different but the callibration can't do anything bad and I also feel calmer myself if I know that I tried that too. My callibration will be followed by a hard reset anyways.

Make sure you're getting your batteries from a repair shop that actually do volt tests on their batteries before installation. Over voltage batteries can cause damage to your motherboard by putting more into the board than needed.

Off the top of my head, I believe the iPhone 6 voltage is 3.8 volts (please correct me if I'm wrong).

And again, go to a reputable shop/person for the parts. There are cases of a bad stock, since they are all aftermarket.

Let me know if this helped.

Thanks for your answer! The battery is from a reputable shop, I think the problem is the missing battery calibration Alec Thompson told me. I'll do the calibration and the hard reset now, we'll see if it works or not.
