Hi
I've a water damaged 2nd Gen 32gb. Was only slightly wet due to my toothing son sticking it in his mouth.
Screen does not work at all, I-Tunes recognises the device, and music on the device plays when on my JBL dock.
Any idea's?

I get the idea that the liquid could have damaged the connection between the screen and the logic board.
Maybe a cleaning of the socket will help.
Other possible causes could be the screen itself being damaged, or something on the motherboard malfunctioning.
The screen can be replaced (not cheap) so can the motherboard (not cheap either). But if the malfunction is caused by corrosion, then cleaning with a suitable chemical, might fix it.

Assumed it may be the screen, but this has now been replaced, and does not resolve the problem. What kind of chemical should I use?
Well I used a spray labeled "Flux remover/PCB cleaner". Others use isopropyl alcohol. Look for something that's made for cleaning logic boards/mother boards. To apply it I used a watercolor brush, that I had cut shorter, so that it wouldn't be too soft. My guess is that if corrosion is the problem then it's close to or in the ribbon cabel connector (are you sure you connected your new screen correctly?). Be carefull.
