having problem engine light will not turn on with key on have two of the same trucks one does the other does not and i cant read the codes

miz4getful, check the bulb for missing/loose/burnt out(exchange it for a known good working one and check the instrument cluster back side for damage, burn mark,corrosion, solder joint break, etc. and if OB2 port is not working check your cigarette lighter fuse for being blown. Good luck.
