What causes the screen to remain black with power on?

I recently replaced my laptop LCD screen and it was working fine until today the screen remain black with power on. So I opened both casing (screen and base) to see if there is any loose connection but all connection is fine. I put the casing back, start the computer and I have picture in the screen. To test if the screen is working properly I closed my laptop and reopen it, the result is black screen with no picture.

VGC, backlight, cables or sleep sensor. Since the unit appears to function until you close the lid I would first check the sleep mode, if following the directions from that article does not solve the problem look at the positioning of the sleep sensors, if the positions are correct then they may need replacement.
