Tools to repair systemboard.

Hi!

Today I read a very good text from JULIA BLUFF talking about iPhone 6 Plus touch problems.

My question is:

Does anyone knows what tools Jessa use to repair those boards? Like microscope brand and model, solder iron brand and model, hot air station brand and model?

Regards!

Amscope is pretty much it for decent scopes. There are more than a few models but Amscope is what most use.

She uses Hakko solder and hot air tools. They are good but I use X-Tronic since they are about half the price of Hakko. Weller makes good stuff, Aoyue has a strong following as well.

I also highly recommend the iPhone micro soldering test kit from iFixit. Tons of tiny pieces to play around with and not risk frying something expensive.

Thank you! It help me a lot! I will start buying Amscope and then I will see hot air tools since those tools are all very expensive. Regards!

Always practice on a broken logicboard as when i 1st started i had a cheap air gun and cheap soldering gun and i ended up burning off the pads behind the chip connectors and that was down to the heat so i got all the proper equipment then practiced on a smd diy clock that i built then onto broken logicboards and now im loving it but its all down to practice, good luck

You are right. Practice is the most important thing. In second place good tools. But I see that Jessa uses a USD 2000+ hot air station! I can't afford it! But I guess It can be done with not so expensive tools.
