Need an LCD screen replaced

I have a Canon a630 that I want to give to my 9 year old as a starter camera but the LCD screen is cracked and needs to be replaced. I'm no good at fixing things but when I contacted Canon they said it was too old to be fixed. Can anybody point me in the direction of where I could actually get this fixed?
