I dropped my phone in a freaking river!

So I dropped my phone in a river. Took it to a repair place that dried it out, said the only problem is the daughterboard for the sound broke. I can accept calls, but I can't hear anything in the call. ditto with music, videos etc. They offered a repair for $80, but I was hoping for a cheaper fix. Any suggestions?

If I was to attempt to do this repair myself, I'd buy a replacement back cover too as they are likely to be damaged whilst removing from the M7.

Once the back is off it's a fairly easy repair, and the daughterboard shouldn't be too expensive

Do you know where I can find a daughterboard? How do I know it's the right one? Is it model specific? Any tricks to getting it in and out?

You can get them on eBay. They are model specific but they aren't hard to find.

You can follow the teardown guide here up to step 13 to remove the old daughterboard and replace with the new one
