when using my phone it would turn on and off by it self. it began sporadically then got to be more frequently. I was able to turn the phone on and it worked finr for a couple of hours noe it will come on not boot up and turn off repeatedly

This is crazy and I have been reading about these phones for days. I got my answer when I read the question . My daughter uses the phone I was talking about. She is constantly using it while it is charging. I put my battery in her phone ans it works like a charm!!!!!!!!! I am off to get a new battery.

I have an LG G3 for over 2 years and a couple of days ago it developed a similar problem like yours. The Sprint store says my phone battery cannot be taken out. How did you open the phone to replace the battery?
By the way my phone model number is LG LS990.

This problem actually has something to do with the motherboard. This answer is coming directly from LG s tech support. It is happening in the G3, G4 and now the G5. There really isn't much that can be done for the phone. Not safe mode and not even a factory data reset will help. You'll have to call your provider to get to their tech support and go through trouble shooting. Then see what your options are.
