iPhone 3G vibration fail

Hey people,

I picked up this 3g 16gig from craigslist about 1 month ago. out of warranty.

Vibration stopped working shortly after. did the research and bought a replacement from ifixit.

Replaced it, however, it still does not work. I can flick the mute switch, system displays sound on/sound off icons, but no vibrate. fail.

might be something contact related. I could open it up and check, but i seem to believe its seems there could be issues with the logic board.

if anyone has any suggestions or similar issue, i would greatly appreciate some input.

actually, since i opened it, i now have one pixel on the screen that has gone dead. it just flickers green. double fail.

might just have to give in and get a new one...
