Why is my right earpod completely mute?

ok so I have a good pair of apples headphones, so one day I lost them, few hours later find them under the nightstand, the next day I use them and I only notice sound coming out of the left headphone, I tried sound balance, mono audio, pushing, pulling the plug and wires, volume,the headphones are in visibly good condition. Only thing is might be the jack because the end of the wire connected to the plug is slightly bent and dented, I'm not taking buy new headphones as an answer my parents are going to kill me. thanks for reading.
