Tablet only a year old and having problems

Acer Iconia W1-810 Tablet was purchased in November 2015. 2 months later it kept turning off. Sent it back to Acer and now it won't charge and they are saying it will cost $145.00 for a new main board, as the warranty has expired. How long should a main board last please?
