icloud lock after restoring my iPad

I've been having my iPad for quite a while, it was under my iCloud account so when I restored it it was iCloud activation locked, why? I bought it new and set it up with my iCloud

Go to Apple Store, or apple website, and change your password. The change will get sent to your email. Then you can login again
