Why laptop doesn't understand closing the lid!?

Hi friends!

I have a question:

My laptop hinges needed lubrication! After I fixed it, I understood that when I close the lid, the screen doesn't turn off :(

So, I like to know what I might broken!? Is there any "Magnet"? Where is it?

My laptop is Fujitsu AH531.

Hi,

There is a small magnetic strip in the lid which triggers a magnetic sensor when the lid closes.

Here is a link which shows what it looks like and where it is located.

Hi,

If you can find another magnet that fits, try it. My other suggestion is that you contact a laptop repair service and inquire if they have any irreparably damaged laptops similar to yours that you may be able to get the magnet from.
