hi
my iPod fell to the floor and the glass broke but everything else works fine whats the name of the part i need there are very many at eBay but i don't think its the part i need can someone just say the name and send a picture
does it work to have a first gen front panel/digitizer and a second gen ipod

It's the front panel/digitizer. Follow the link for a pic.
1st gen and 2nd gen front panels are not compatible. The 1st gen wraps around part of the logic board to connect to the back. The 2nd gen connects to the front. Sorry!
