Replacing Display on Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Can I replace the Front Glass from the LCD display using the iOpener? Some blogs suggest replacing the full display. Posted videos show the Front glass removal using a heat gun or some other forms of heat. The iFixit guide for the Samsung Galaxy Note II provides instruction for replacing the front panel display assembly as a whole.

Like every Samsung glass it can be replaced with some skill and patience.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend attempting it. It's going to cost you a fortune to fix if you fail and break the AMOLED display.

Definitely don't use an iOpener. If you're going to attempt it you need a heat gun and playing cards at least.

Here's a few tips if you do decide to attempt it:

- If the card isn't cutting through the glue easily then the glue isn't hot enough.

- Don't exceed 90 degrees C. Keep the heat constantly moving and not fixed on one position or you will burn the polarizer.

- Don't cut in from the sides/top with anything sharp or risk cutting the polarizer.

Removing the glass is the easy part, the hard part is putting the new glass on and making sure glue doesn't leak anywhere else.

I'd suggest removing everything from the frame so you can clean the excess glue.

Good luck
