jennie moore, sounds like you are having issues with the brushes. Make sure that you clean the brush compartment. Ensure that all gears are free of dirt, well lubricated, and make sure the gears turn when you turn the brushes. If you gearbox is clear, it may be that the brush motor has gone out, Post some images with your question of your Roomba while you work on it.
