My HTC Desire 816's headphone jack suddenly stopped working. One minute, I could use it regularly. The next, it wouldn't recognize my headphones. I tested my headphones on my tablet, and they work, so I know it's the phone. Any suggestions?

There may be some pocket lint or some material jammed into the jack that isn't letting it connect properly. See if you can find some needle-tip tweezers or a paper clip to clean it out.

I had the same problem with a Note 4 case. Thought it was a defective headphone adaptor, but the adaptor worked fine in an another phone. The paper clip clean out solved the problem ( even though I didn't notice any lint coming out.) Thanks!

i am using htc desire 820
my earphones suddenly stopped working on my phone, this is a really wierd situation as my earphones are working well on other phones but not on my phone that means earphones are working fine and other earphones are also working on phone that means earphone jack is also working fine.
but those earphone are just not working with my phone, and phones earphone jack is just not working with those earphones.

My htc desire eye ,when inserted with earphone jack male(3.5mm) only one side sound is coming wat do i do now,it happens even after the lint test!

I have the 626 and I basically need headphones and music to live and I'm scared to tell my mom my headphone Jack won't work because basically like broke my phone

And I threw away a pair of headphones because I thought they were broken I'm dissapointed because I wasted money on this basically

I have bought headphones jack of the htc 820 but they are not working on my htc 626G the problem is that my phone see these headphones but when i try to listen something dont work

When plug in my headphone the speaker still plays I had this problem earlier and just reset my phone and they worked again a day later they stopped working again and I know it's not the headphones I tested them and I tired hard resting my phone and it still didn't work
