Why isn't my new screen I ordered not turning on?

I ordered a new IPhone 5c screen and when I put it on it wouldn't show anything but I could hear the noises of it charging.

The screen is not being recognized by the phone, or the backlight is not turning on. What was the original issue? Try another screen from a reputable supplier.
