How toReplace broken speaker for QC25

Hi,

I have a broken QuiteComfort 25 headphone speaker.

No voice at the left speaker.

It needs to be replaced.

However, I could not remove it. I was able to remove the cover the speaker itself does not move and come out.

Also do you know where to find a new speaker to replace the old one?

tHanks,

Are you sure that the speaker is the issue and not the wiring?

Thank you, I am convinced this is the same thing for me as I bought mine early 2015. I am glad Bose is replacing these, because I was worried I flushed $300 down the toilet

Hi, I also have this problem, it seems to be a fault with the driver Bose have used, what might work as a temporary fix is to put something like a piece of paper between the black plastic housing and the clear plastic of the driver itself, at the point where the copper wire seperates from the coil to the edge of the driver, it seems putting pressure at this point makes maybe a burned wire make contact. To remove the speaker I took out the two screws holding the second cover in place and then used a hair dryer to heat up the glue holding it in place. I then pryed the black plastic cover off ( if you get a little piece of the glue with a tiny screwdriver you can pull the stringy glue out from all the way around), I did this for the driver underneath aswell. After that I just desoldered the driver and got a replacement off eBay. Hope this helps

I am not sure. That's what the service told me. They cost too much for the new part.

If i can remove it i plan to check the inside cabling.

Mine also has this problem - I just hanged up with Bose customer support.

There was a known manufacturing defect, and an amount of these headphones are affected.

I gave them the serial number, they confirmed, that although the headphone is outside of the warranty period, since it belongs to the defective ones, they replace it with a new one at no cost.

I will get a shipping label, and in 10 days, a new headphones with 1 year warranty.

I needed not to present original packaging or proof of purchase.

I have this problem as well. I called Bose and they offered to send me a new QC35 for $135, but would not offer any sort of free replacement, which was disappointing. But I guess it’s 2018 now and they probably don’t have any QC25s to replace mine with.

I have seen some replacement speakers online, but would like to know the difficulty in replacing them.

EASY !!
In most cases, it is the speaker that is the problem !!!

Easy to change:

1. 2 screws inside the earcups and the cloth piece (The earcups are "clips" on plce...use your finger all the way around until you hear click....every 2 cm.....)

2. Use a scalpel to open the cover of the speaker (NB!! warm up a bit first...hair dryer works fine!)

3.Unsolder the speaker and solder a new one !!

EVERYTHING OK !!!
