Broke plastic socket while repairing left fan

It seems I broke off the plastic connector to the logic board, while trying to repair my A1286 Macbook Pro's left fan.

Is there a way the repair it myself ?

Please help! Thanks!

mbrk, the only way to fix it is by soldering the connector back on. Your solder pads still look okay so it should be a straight forward job with a small soldering iron, lots of patience and a good magnifying source.

+ good answer. The only thing I would add would be to use solder paste instead of rosin core solder wire for this type of repair. It is much easier to get it right the first time and really no soldering experience necessary for it to look professionally done.

Solder it back. You didn't rip any traces off the board, thank god, that's when it really becomes fun.

If you're a novice at this do not put the connector back on the board. This is more difficult to do and can result in you lifting pads and being completely &&^&@@. Strip the ends of the fan wires and solder them individually to the board. This is not the "proper" way to do it but it is the less risky way to do it if you are new to microsoldering.
